VSDB Student Sports

The VSDB Foundation funds equipment, uniform, and transportation for the VSDB Athletic Program.  The Board believes that VSDB students should have the opportunities equal to their peers in public schools through sports programming.

The athletic program is an extension of the educational program of the school. Sports are unique in that they can develop self-discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, goal setting, physical fitness, dedication, and numerous other qualities.

We offer the student an opportunity to compete with local public schools, private schools as well as neighboring state schools for the deaf and blind. Sports include: girls’ volleyball, boys’ and girls’ basketball, goal ball, and Cross Country.

The deaf program known as the Cardinals is a member of the Mason-Dixon Schools for the Deaf Athletic Association which competes with other deaf schools in the southeast. The blind program known as the Chiefs is a member of the Eastern Athletic Association of the Blind and competes with other blind schools on the east coast.
