Mr. Drake is a native Arkansan and graduated from Arkansas School for the Deaf in 1959. He attended Gallaudet University and graduated with a BA in Economics and earned a MA degree in Education from Gallaudet.
Drake began his teaching career at VSDB in the fall of 1964, where he taught math, algebra, geometry and science in high school. Mr. Drake received his school administration certification from James Madison University. From 1970-1995, Mr. Drake served as the high school supervising teacher, then as an assistant principal and finally as the principal at VSDB until he retired.
